Air Jordan is a brand of shoes and athletic clothing designed, owned, and produced by Michael Jordan for Nike’s Jordan Brand subsidiary. The shoes, informally referred to in the plural as Air Jordan’s or simply J’s, were first released for public consumption in 1985 after Michael Jordan wore them in 1984 as a rookie; thereafter, new designs were released annually.

Since its introduction into the sports shoe market, the Air Jordan evolved to the original basketball shoes to models for different uses, including I-XXIII.. Air Jordan currently sponsors 19 active NBA players, including Chris Paul, Ray Allen, and Carmelo Anthony. They also endorse Nike Air Jordan products.

The Air Jordan line has been associated with numerous riots, assaults, robberies, and murders, such as the murder of a 15-year-old high school student named Michael Eugene Thomas who was choked to death by one of his peers for a pair of Air Jordan sneakers in 1989.

Nike has never owned any of the factories where Air Jordans are produced and contracts the work to various factory owners. Company officials say that they only advertise and market the shoes. However, Nike dictates production terms and standards to the contractor, often without questioning labor or safety practices. In April 1997, 10,000 Indonesian workers went on strike over wage violations at an Air Jordan factory. The same month in Vietnam 1,300 workers went on strike demanding a 1-cent-per-hour raise, and a year later in 1998, 3,000 workers in China went on strike to protest hazardous working conditions and low wages.

cheap jordans All signs now

Trading stars in the NBA is different than other sports. There are differences with salary structures and salary caps on a team’s payroll, and the players that help their teams to sell the most NBA tickets are the most popular and highly-paid players in the entire league. Here are five NBA stars where the trade winds are blowing even faster around them this offseason.

1) Dwight Howard – Orlando Magic:

cheap jordans All signs now point to Howard making an eventual exit from the Magic, but where would he be traded? The Magic’s GM Rob Hennigan says that a lot of different teams have inquired about Howard recently. The Houston Rockets are actively trying to put together a package to acquire Howard, but it’s unknown if Howard would be willing to sign a long-term contract with Houston. It’s been rumored that Howard is only willing to discuss a trade to the New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks, both teams where he’d be willing to sign long-term.

http://www.google.com The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly very interested in trading for Pau Gasol. Earlier in the 2011-2012 NBA season, the Wolves made several attempts to trade for Pau Gasol, and it’s looking like the Wolves’ pursuit of the big man is going to continue into this offseason. When the Wolves reportedly offered Derrick Williams to the Charlotte Bobcats for their #2 pick in the draft, it was seen as part of a larger move in order to acquire Gasol. It didn’t go down, but the Wolves are going to keep trying to acquire Gasol, pairing him with fellow Spaniard Ricky Rubio this upcoming season.

3) Luol Deng – Chicago Bulls:

The Chicago Bulls’ Deng is another player where trade rumors continue to come up around him. It’s believed that if the Bulls decide to move Deng, they will be doing so in order to cut salary, instead of taking on bad contracts. The Kings, Raptors, and Cavaliers are three teams that have the cap space and lottery picks to be able to take on Deng’s contract. The Bulls could acquire a Top 10 pick and get money off the books if they work out a deal with any of the three teams. Of course, there’s just as much of a chance that the Bulls decide to keep their All-Star forward in the end.

4) Andre Iguodala – Philadelphia 76ers:

There have been talks that the Sixers have put Iguodala on the trading block in an attempt to move up from the #15 pick. Possible targets for Iguodala are the Wizards or Bobcats with the Sixers interested in players like Bradley Beal, Andrew Drummond, or Thomas Robinson.

5) Rajon Rondo – Boston Celtics:

Rondo’s name has been bounced around in trade rumors before Chris Paul was traded to the Clippers, and the talks continue. Boston seems to be hesitant in rebuilding around Rondo, especially with the rest of their roster up there in age. The Celtics would consider proposals carefully if they were able to land an impact player in exchange for Rajon Rondo, though they’ll have to get a lot in return after Rondo has consistently proved to be a big-time playoff performer.
